If we had a flat tax that was equally applied to all citizens, THAT would be fair. And I would be all for that under two conditions: first is that the percentage is spelled out in a constitutional amendment, and that it covers ALL income in every form with NO deductions. Period. It could be done on a post card. And also what should be added to that would be the requirement that unless you actually pay into the system, you do not get to vote. But that is complete fantasy. None of the politicos in DC are interested in anything other than power, and as long as they can bend you and me over a barrel, they can maintain that regardless of what is 'fair'.
