Serious question:
Why is it that just about every pilot I talk to is angry about being overworked and under paid, but then proceeds to tell me (“brag,” if you will) their strategy to average 200 credit hours per month, which usually involves optimizing the rules of our current contract in their favor (with a normal amount of flying). This observation of mine includes union volunteers.
Change my mind: most pilots love our current contract and would memory rat it again if it includes a 25-30% pay bump.
And why don’t we put an annual incremental raise penalty on backside of our contract? 5% if it goes past 1 year, +10% after two years (15% total, or 15.75 for you finance types), 3 years, etc.
