Cant speak for everyone, but some of my kids would like to follow in my footsteps, despite my discouraging it. I care about the crap they will deal with. You aren’t wrong that some of this is overwrought BS. However, some of this crap could distract from focusing on what will keep my kid alive. That matters to me. The military is a very BLUF business. Success can be great, but both success and failures can wind up in a box in the ground. I’m not interested in burying my kids. Especially so when leadership has their focus on BS.
