Not everyone is motivated by money, but when you're making 150K less than pilots from other airlines to push the same tin for the "only airline to profit and grow post covid", we need to have a conversation about money. For your average 25-30 year old pilot G4 is hiring, thats about 4mil in income less than a legacy driver (excluding retirement). If being home is worth that much money to you, more power to you, but I think you're worth more than what we are paid, and I think that I am too.
People coming here have to accept that they are sacrificing that kind of money, giving up on schedule flexibility and getting days off they need, welcoming threatening emails for calling off on a day their seniority should have held off but got G4'd, and so much more! If being home is the only thing that matters to you, and you're happy to miss your kids Friday night game, willing to spend 1-2 months a year on TDY at the bottom, then welcome aboard. The day trips are a poison pill. What happens when the airline that clearly has no plan for the future decides they don't work anymore? Then what are we left with talking about? If day trips worked for large airlines, every airline would be doing them. We aren't smarter than the rest. If the pyramid scheme doesn't continue to grow, and the bases stop opening, how else do you think we are growing the airline?
Anything can happen at G4 in the next few years. Do not come here for something that isn't ironclad protected in a contract or federal law, you'll be disappointed. As far as this contract goes we are setting ourselves up for failure if we vote into a subpar contract that doesn't address QOL and pay issues across the system, not just specific to our airline but specific to the multitude of avenues our airline could go down.
