Despite all the negatives right now, this is great news. They are not hiring 2k pilots just for greater route penetration. There is more to the story and I personally think this change is a glimpse of the plan and a piece of the puzzle.

We have some tailwinds right now: Pilot shortage/demand, uptick in business travel, mediation, and competitors laden with debt, or merger quagmire. I have said it before, I don’t want us to be first to sign and don’t want to be last. We just need to keep pushing the ball up the field and be in a position to push into the end zone when the time is right. The company is going to NEED us to settle and that is the time to do so.

This is great news today. It appears to position us a few yards closer to the end zone in my opinion.
