What about reserve schedule? Do you actually fly on reserve or just sit and wait?

Thanks!
I absolutely love the flexibility I have here at RPA. Not always perfect, but I get 98% of the day I want off (I’m one of the more senior of the junior folks… i.e. I can hold whatever reserve days I want, but not a line). That said, I always drop my reserve days and pick up trips. Have to be willing to work out of base to build yourself a line successfully..

Aside from that, a friend of mine who IND based and junior to me by a week was awarded 85 hours of credit at 18 days off. It all comes down to the base, really,

The TA is looking like it’ll pass and with that, the ability for senior FOs to bid No-Fly lines. This’ll allow more junior FOs to actually obtain a line sooner.

It’s anyone’s guess how the TA impact the pilot group from a flying standpoint, but the expectation from the company is that CA bids will increase significantly. Time will tell.

All that aside, RPA is amazing and has the best work rules out there. I definitely don’t regret coming to RPA and if I had to do it again, I’d try to get here sooner!
