1) Do not use Clear Schedule and Start Next (CSSN) Bid Group unless you know exactly how it works AND you are using it for a specific reason. CSSN is the #1 misused tool in PBS. There are certainly times to use it, but it typically causes more problems than it solves.
2) Always have an unconditional [no CSSN or Else Start Next (ESN) Bid Group] line and reserve bid group in your bid. Too many times, pilots build a bid in which every bid group has a CSSN or ESN and ALL of them fail, driving them into the system-generated Award Pairings bid group.
3) Read the PBS Reference Handbook.
4) The DALMEC PBS Committee has a volunteer on duty every single month from the 5th through the 11th. If you want them to review your bid, please submit a PBS Bid Inquiry via the link on the Crew Resources/Scheduling page of DeltaNet. It's much better to have it reviewed before its run.
