APA Preparing National Mediation Board Application

This afternoon, the APA Board of Directors unanimously approved a motion that directs the Senior Director of Legal Affairs, in conjunction with the Director of Negotiations and the Negotiating Committee, to prepare an application to the National Mediation Board for mediation services in our ongoing Section 6 negotiations. In related discussion and debate, various Board members voiced their frustration with American Airlines management’s unwillingness to address issues of concern to our members, and suggested that it may be appropriate to involve the NMB at this juncture in an effort to reach a satisfactory agreement.
