They talked about it. I just don’t think it’s nearly the boogeyman at Alaska and other places that it is here at SWA. For one thing, the guys at Virgin had it. Most seemed to prefer it over what a lot of them described as Alaska’s “archaic” line bidding system. Line bidding over there seemed to be viewed as an outdated relic that only boomers could appreciate along with their paper bid packages.
They also had other contractual issues that made it difficult to fix a schedule. A Credit cap in the mid 80’s, which I’m assuming is left over from the days where they were negotiated with the intent of helping to prevent furloughs? The problem with them becomes all kinds of trades/open time pickups are denied when approaching the cap so it becomes difficult to manipulate schedules. Hopefully they got rid of the cap and I’m guessing they did to make pbs more functional with the min av and max credit windows.
