The best answer is that it can't hurt. LCAs from regionals are not getting interviews with multiple internals, but a military fighter guy gets an interview with zero internals. The only things that appears to help your app is a meet-and-greet with a chief pilot. Those guys writing those internal recs can set that up for you.
