Not to bash Chicago as a base but a lot of us knew Chicago was eventually on the chopping block. It was opened for Apple vacations pre ULCC model. Most Chicago trips flew turns out of other bases because there just wasn’t enough flying out of there.
Seems like MIA may have opened in anticipation of the Spirit merger and now that it has been called off MIA may be the next base to be closed.
