Perhaps here in North America. Outside of that I hear it used for its intended purpose all the time. I can tell you that the consequences of not monitoring it can be unpleasant. The Chinese take missing calls especially seriously. They vigorously follow up with the FAA and companies.
well...after what they have given us for the past few years I think we should all get passes for next 20-30 years when we miss a call.
