I can’t think of a single business they would accept any downtime. A web store or an app with a backend in the cloud can just take off the weekend? Crypto backends can just be down for a night? How would that work? So airlines are the only ones that run mission critical items on computers? The list of businesses that require 24 hour uptime is way longer than any business that can just take the weekend off. This isn’t some short list that only includes airlines. You are out of your league in this discussion.

The bottom line is the company could follow the rules of the road and do the right thing but why would they? They would have to spend the money (and it probably wouldn’t be that much) and the end result would be it costs them even more money. Why would they do that?
