I’ll see your CMH and raise you an FAA. My current rotation started with an airline to CMH for an “FAA Flyout” in the simulator. WHAT have I done…OMG? Turns out it was just part of the process to get next year’s AQP approved by the FAA. We ran one LOE scenario in the sim while the fleet training director tried different malfunctions to see what they could and couldn’t effectively use. The FAA wasn’t even there. Very low key. Plus, ended up getting 3.3 hours FDP for less than 2.0 in the sim.
Meanwhile, FAA reps are in the simulator ALL the time in the training centers evaluating not only the AQP program but the new instructors that FSI is hiring. And not just in CMH. FSIs in Tampa, Orlando, San Antonio and elsewhere are spooling up NetJets training and need evaluation as well. That's never very fun.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you....
