1. QOL is one of my biggest concerns. I'd like to avoid commuting because I do have a family that I'd like to spend as much time as I could with. ie Republic and Skywest have bases at ORD
2. Yes, I am just a CFI, who IS choosing to TEACH, build EXPERIENCE, and learn a few things along the way. I'm not applying with the 400TT and taking whatever I can get with that just to build time and do a LATERAL(stupid) move when I can simply instruct to get the time I need to go to where I want to go.
3. Being with a reputable company who cares and takes care of their pilot group is where I'd like to start. Im in know HURRY to get into whoever will take me first. Works out way better in the long run...wouldnt you say? Eagle=good company but 7yr FO; Mesa= Do I even have to explain?
So, I ask you, what's wrong with planning where one should go based upon their specific reasons? It's not always best to take what you can get and deal with it, and find out how much of a BAD decision you made by doing just that. Or eventually hating your flying job, and then losing interest in flying based upon your bad FIRST impression. The point of my first post was to see how JR the ORD base is for Republic? Of the two places that I am trying to get to, Republic would be my 1st choice. I think that these are VALID statements for CFI who is choosing to hold out from applying and just taking what I can get.
To answer your question, you should be able to hold ORD out of training. I'm not sure how the hiring is going but even if you don't get offered Shuttle you should still consider accepting an offer from RAH. One other piece of advice calling lateral movers "stupid" probably wouldn't be the best way to break the ice in class. Good Luck!
