It depends. If you live locally, you might want a Field Standby (FSB). If you commute, you might want to aggressively pick up a trip or a FSB to control your schedule a little then you might get more than the average rsv pilot. If you wait for the crew desk to assign you something then usually only a couple of times but again it would depend on how many unused short calls you have or if you are coming off of a trip and the timing of your availability. If you want to avoid them, you can pick up a short call or a trip if open to avoid them but you may still get tagged for one here or there. With the hiring going on this pace, you will be a lineholder relatively shortly and then problem solved, no more FSB. Without knowing your base and seat hard to give you a great estimate but across the system on the NB fleet a couple of times a month would be about avg for FSB. YMMV
