Just want to clarify for everyone following along with the SC / air commute posts…
If you have been assigned SC, you absolutely can commute in, even via air, to be in position for SC, and you can even do it during the first two hours of the SC assignment. You just have to notify Scheds that you will be unavailable for contract during the firs two hours.
What you can not do, is be sitting at your commute airport while on SC and if assigned a rotation, jump on a plane to then commute in within the “2-ish” hours.
Not only that you can commute in on your SC time, you can also call skeds and get released to commute home with 2hrs left in the 9hr window, so a SC can just mean go to base for 5or so hours for the day if you get a SC window that is commutable.
