SkyWest has an excellent training department. Most of the new hires are CFIs and the pass rate is in the high 90%. Same with upgrades, more simulator sessions were recently added to the upgrade course too. Most instructors are great and want you to pass, I've never felt like they purposely failed you to keep you around.
i disagree with this. I know a pilot who washed out of SkyWest who never failed anything and was never offered any additional training. He passed at my airline with no issues.
but I believe his washout occurred before they made major revisions to their training department.
