I finished my last tour at netjets on Friday. It really seems like management does things just to punish you on purpose.
Day 1: Airline to a broken airplane in SJC
Day 2: Ferry broken airplane to VNY
Day 3: Sit
Day 4: Get assigned different broken airplane
Day 5: Trip on original broken airplane that got fixed. Took two minutes after startup to see it wasn’t remotely close to fixed. Back to hotel and sit.
Day 6: Take another airplane that came out of Mx up to SJC. Delayed so we can take an owner. While sitting at the FBO, we received FIVE different travel emails over the course of an hour for go home day. Nothing on tentative. We had to look at FlightAware and there was a list a mile long of legs going every which way. Eventually, they settled on SJC-CRQ-SLC-LAS-Airline Home. Get home in the door by 8pm.
DAY 7: Everything stayed glued together through the night. On the way to the FBO we get our release. Looking good. Step out of the Lyft at the FBO and the entire brief blows up. SJC-TRM-VNY-APC-LAS-Airline home. Get into my base right at 14hrs get in the door at 11pm. All it would have taken is a 6 minute delay and I was calling company for a hotel and collect my after midnight. Payback.
Nothing is ever for sure. You can’t count on anything at all. Literally everything is subject to change and can blow up in your face at any time. It’s no way to live. And management punishing pilots and then pilots punishing management just takes years off your life. It’s not who I want to be.
6.5hrs of flying in 7 days and a thorough ass beating on day 7 as a thank you.
We hauled ass all day and got into LAS early. I got travel to put me back on one of the early flights and I was home by 8pm.
I’m very disappointed to leave netjets. It’s not how I wanted it to go. I’m just glad I landed on my feet.
