[QUOTE=WGTruth;3530184]The pilots of Western Global are represented by ALPA. This is not the place to work if you don't want to be in a union.

The employees are suing the owners of WG related to "irregularities" with the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). A quick web search of "Western Global Airlines ESOP" will give you a good idea of what's going on.

WG operates using 121 Supplemental rules with duty days up to 30 hours long and 350 hours of flying allowed in 90 days. You can fly 115 hours during your 17 duty days and get zero overtime. Zero credit for deadheading......in middle seat economy class.

WG has a strict policy that prevents employees from being forthcoming on social media. The cheerleading posts from management stooges seem to be encouraged, but it's difficult for line pilots to offer honest opinions if it can be viewed as negative in any way. The stuff written here is not a balanced view of what's going on

Speaking of the Union at WGA, They were voted on property in April 2021 by a 69 to 31% margin of those that voted. In April 2021, there were 19 members on the union organizing committee. As of today, I know at least 12 of them have left WGA. At least 2 of the remaining have interviewed elsewhere. Except for the chairman of the EXCO, it has been a revolving door. They have been through 3 Capt reps and they are on their second sec/treasurer. There were 3 on the negotiating committee. Now there are 2 and both have interviewed elsewhere. For those who didn't want the union, this makes you wonder about the commitment of those that voted for the union. Initially all non-union committee volunteers were fired and replaced with union members. With a lack of union volunteers, we have one committee chaired and run by a non-union volunteer. Most of the new hires want no part of the union. With attrition, especially with the union crusaders leaving, we may be below the 50% support level. So the future of the union is not a guarantee.
