A extreme shortage of pilots at their level they gave management two choices. Shutdown in the very near term or pay a huge price to downsize dramatically but orderly and survive as smaller airlines. Delta just cut the interview rate back because they have to many pilots in the pool.
So, you think they did go for a moonshot, and make it. But, you don't think we should do the same because we are in a different position? The commuters are short, but Delta will never be?
We just had 20 unfilled NYC 7er captain positions on the last AE and the junior award went to someone hired 6 months ago.
Maybe times are changing.
