The above information is incorrect. You can jumpseat on Southwest, and travel in the cabin without a passport. You just need your employee id, pilot's certificate, and FAA Medical. There is a procedure in our OPS Binder that deals with this situation. Now, if the CSA knows this procedure, that is a different question. I would arrive early at the gate to give yourself plenty of time in case there are holdups. Good Luck!
As an other airline pilot, I do not have acces to the OPS binder. When I list for the JS on SWA, at the gate, 100% of the time they will not process me without my full passport. Does not matter if there's seats open in the back. DL, passport card do not work. Not complaining, and always have my passport with me. Just what happens in the real world.
