Yes, very similar. If I recall, the term used by the mediator during TA2 was "Super-mediation". Once they were VERY close, the mediator cut off both sides from contacting anyone on the outside. NC could not talk to the MEC, and company negotiators could not talk to management. We're talking the last 24 hours of negotiating prior to an AIP being reached.
