Maybe you can’t wrap your mind around it, but a backwards Texas regional airline with a long upgrade, super clapped out -300s that smelled like dog$h!t, flying 3-5 legs a day not using VNAV, Autobrakes, or even Autothrottles, and known for being challenged wrt keeping their jets on the pavement, was not a career option that most of us at AirTran were interested in pursuing.
