I had benefits on 3.5 majors at my last job, and can probably count on 1 hand how many times I used them for leisure pass travel. I used them to commute for a bit, and to get myself home earlier from CQ or to get home earlier than the scheduled Deadhead at the end of a trip. But actual leisure travel, never did it. My parents never did either. Any time I traveled (like the miracle week I managed to get off for our anniversary trip), I just bought tickets because the last thing I wanted to do was standby travel when we had plans.
Anyway a few pages ago someone was touting the benefits but I couldn’t tell if it was facetious or not. I expect I’ll mostly just use it for the same. Getting myself home from training breaks, maybe if I have to commute at first.
Ive used Lufthansa (Germany), Condor(Germany), Air Canada(Canada), JSX, Southwest(Us and Hawaii), JetBlue(Columbia), Spirit(Columbia) and F9( multiple trips). Currently looking at South Pacific or European options for the Christmas break. We’re a family of 5.
