My uncle was a Pan Am Captain that got picked up by United when Pan Am got parted out between United and Delta. My cousin (his son) got hired by United. My #1 choice of airlines to work for was United, and in the late 90’s with both of them writing letters of recommendations, I couldn’t even get an interview. Now, 23 years later, non citizens are getting job offers while I will be commuting to work for the last 15 years of my career. Damn, I timed my life poorly.
