One thing is for sure - don't expect to touch the controls much for a few years as a new Hire
Bad info. You will be able to bid for and hold EWR and or possibly IAD on the next vacancy bid or the second at the latest. Time wise I’d say you’d be advanced and staffed in your new base in 3 to 6 months after your vacancy bid award.
Personally I would choose the 777 if given a choice between the 777 & 787. Reason being about 40 to 50% of 777 flying now is domestic. Two pilots crews so you’ll get plenty of FO flying seat time and landings. About half of the domestic is trancons the other half hub to hub multiple leg days (well at least 2 which a lot for the 777). I’m fairly sure the 787 is mostly international and in that case you’ll get alot of IRO/Bunky time and visit the sim for landings frequently.
777 is a great airplane too, yes I’m biased. Welcome to United!
