That being said, it is a challenging decision that you will have to make about a DEC position or 6-12 month upgrade.. I tell people, honestly, that we have the quickest Upgrade in the 135 Industry, but you don’t get any quicker than Direct Entry Captain. We have done DEC here in the past, but avoid it for several reasons, pilot morale and known quantity among them. Also, Argus Wyvern requirements for Platinum require that one must have considerable hours in type as well.

I guess that you should probably ask ourself that common interview question: “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” And apply that to both companies. Then, compare the APC Profiles and Fleet Projections for both companies and see which place looks better long term. If I were still in the 121 world, I would have 6 years left, so we are both pretty close in that department.
