To be clear here, I wear the uniform as we are supposed down to the tee, everything pressed, etc. I see other pilots choosing whatever jacket they prefer (black of course), ties for holiday occasions, etc. You have to realize that the post I was responding to was from a new pilot who just experienced another off the rails rant by the DEN base CP who welcomes new pilots by opining on what she wishes was in our contract vis a vis uniforms with the all the fervor of an North Korean news anchor and "lays down the law" instead of delivering a "welcome to Frontier, we're glad to have you" vibe. I would add that on probation a pilot might use a bit of judgement. A Frontier pilot would have to be wearing something that was way off the reservation to get dinged by a check airman, I have never heard of that happening nor have I heard of anyone getting talked to about their uniform. I saw one female captain walking around with some sort of pink flair on the bars of her epaulets. Tacky AF but hey, whatever. Don't sweat it is the basic message, but try to look professional. I dress the part to sent the message that I take my job seriously and respect the profession.
