Yeah that's basically the last I heard. And their original proposal was over a year ago. I know they've taken a bit on investigations lately... But this one is a bit simpler than even that RJ deal in Maine in 2019.
Simplified: The plane had an unairworthy engine that wouldnt even produce TO thrust without overheating (the technique would be to split thrust levers on takeoff. If you refused you were threatened with termination). The "good" engine failed on takeoff and the engine that had been pencil whipped for a long time would not maintain level flight without overheating, leading to it failing.
