You usually get your base assingnment just prior to your checkride. They like to wait till they know you ave made it through the training. Being a small company they count on who they put in a base. Very little reserve at colgan. So if they assign bases early on in training and the person washes up they are stuck. Each class is about 12 and they usually lose one or two per class.

The out and backs are nice if you live at your base. I have had the sme base for 3 years 1.5 years as FO and 1.5 as captain. It has been great cause I live here. Otherwise the guys in the crash pads are actually in the pad more than "home"
