So much easier to surround yourself with mediocre and live in an echo chamber than to listen to opposing views and perspectives. Because if everyone around you speaks and feels the same way, than you must be right! Right?
I get it man, facing reality is tough and uncomfortable. Better to shoo away the icky truth than be confronted with it.
As far as talking about the contract on the flight deck, don't be scared. I don't even broach the subject unless asked. It's not worth my time. I know there's an 82% chance the pilot sitting next to me swallowed it whole and talking about it for 5 hours won't change either of our opinions. Much like politics and religion.
Sorry my opposing view on the CBA triggered you. But hey, it's almost Christmas. Maybe you could ask Santa for a thicker skin so you can better face this mean 'ol world.
You may not like the results, and that's your prerogative, but I'm pretty certain that most of the 82 percenters did not swallow the contract whole.

To varying degrees, I think most 'YES' voters in fact wished that certain items were either included, or were better than the gains achieved, but in the end, decided that overall, the TA checked off enough boxes to improve their personal, financial, and professional lives in a meaningful way.

I also think the SNAP UP provision was a big reason why most were willing to accept this offer, despite the fact that overall, we did not make out like bandits as was desired.

Let's see if this provision works as intended, because if it does, our payrates (yes, I know, it isn't all about payrates) would end up being well within the ballpark of the traditional leaders. If not, you could argue that once again we got hoodwinked and bamboozled, and the union should be questioned about it because they assured us that this thing was stress tested every which way to ensure that there were no escape hatches for the company.
