Having just under 12,000 hours total time, I have yet to hit 1,000 turbine pic. I am close, however - just shy of 100 hours to go. This industry is crazy. Imagine not being able to even apply at FedEx, UPS, or SWA with 12,000 hours and type ratings on B737/757/767/777? Not that I would, but you never know. A buddy of mine had 0 turbine pic when he was hired by TWA. He ended up flying at AA until he was furloughed, now he is a 757 Captain at a charter airline. Crazy, luck-of-the-draw business we are in, eh?
