JetBlue 12-year A320 Captains are about to be paid more than FedEx 12-year International B777 Captains, and that doesn’t even take into account their night override. Also, their contract was up in August of this year and they already have a TA. Think about that and what it says about how this management group values what we do.
Also, not to belabor the point, but I think it’s worth reflecting back to 2015. Fedex ALPA had just helped raise the bar on pay. Our 12 CA WB pay in NOV ‘15 was $278.94. DAL pushed through their TA2 immediately thereafter. Their new top rate JAN ‘16 was $320.71. That’s 14.9% on top of ours. Immediately. And the down line ramifications are significant. Their hourly pay rate for the 12 WB CA averaged over $40,000 above FDX 12 WB CA annually. That’s nearly a quarter million dollar difference after our six year deal. Now that they have gone first this time, it’s time for us to level up off of them.
