There's a huge difference between being "mean" and being "all broadcast - no receive". Forgotten more about unionism? I'm sure he'll be the first to tell you that.
The reality is that the rank and file membership demand more than a flaming a-hole telling them how it's going to be as a surrogate for actual leadership.
