AA/DL are hiring for retirements for now and not growth. Worst case a recession hits and they chop from the head instead of the toe with retirements and early outs
This is a very astute observation, really big gamble on the future economy. They're taking delivery on roughly 300 aircraft in the next 2 years, highly dependent on the demand being there for domestic and then even more so international. Denver to Houston on a half full 78 can't be too profitable.
