I'm facing a first tomorrow, or I fumbled through it previously and got lucky. Need to check one bag through to destination. Leg one on mainline from my hometown airport connecting through DTW to PVD, second leg on an Endeavor CRJ 700. Listed XCM for first leg, and I have STBY listing on leg two, since we cannot book XCM on DL Connection. Loads on both legs suggest a need to sit up front.

So as most of you would surmise, I have two separate PNRs for the journey. And it's uncertain in my mind if I am behaving properly by having a non-rev listing on a Connection flight that I will be requesting XCM on. I haven't checked-in and don't know that I would for the Endeavour leg. Certainly don't want to do anything improper. But how can I approach getting a bag checked all the way through? It's been so long since I have tried to non-rev with a bag, I don't even know if the bags go in the event you don't get a seat.
