No matter how talented Capt. Swindells has been with union work, there should be ZERO TOLERANCE for racism, antisemitism, and, not to mention, the sexist and bigoted remarks he has made about female and LGBTQ pilots. His true colors are there, in the open for the public to see, and I feel ashamed that this is the person that represents us. You are setting a precedent by supporting his election that this type of behavior cannot only go unpunished, but also be rewarded - and that is the governing issue here.

You wouldn’t expect United to hire a new pilot after having a history of making racist and vulgar remarks, as they do not adhere to the principles of our airline, and they definitely do not adhere to the ALPA Code Of Ethics. Furthermore, this MEC Chair position sit on the United Airlines BOD and is expected to comply with the airline's CORE4 philosophy and Mission Statement. I ask you, why would we be okay with a Master Chairman who is so blatantly disrespectful to people who do not share his views?

I am respectfully asking for the immediate resignation of Neil Swindells as the MEC Chairman.
