Sure let’s say it’s true that would mean he’s an APD with the highest override and picking up flying on days off or pulling doubles… it’s a load of malarkey and everyone knows it. But let’s assume it is true, there’s no QOL of life there and you’d need to live minutes away from the airport to make all that SEA driving worth it, meanwhile the comrades at the Widget just go to work and make marginally less. He claims he made $26-29k over the few years that Delta didn’t pay out a bonus, well that’s a wash cause Delta already pays about that much more anyways in a given year. Point of all this is if you’re at a regional you be a fool to stay there over taking a class date at Alaska. Once you’re there you can evaluate if it’s worth staying or not but to look at this one off guy who’s been full of it the entire time as a reason to come here is a huge mistake. Scroll back and you’ll find a post I made quoting him over the last year and it’s quite entertaining how wrong he’s been this entire time. And my final note is his comparison to his United buddies, I can’t tell you how many senior guys and gals I flew with that told me the same thing and when I said to them that they’re comparing the past and assuming it’s the future they couldn’t disagree with me at all. The past isn’t indicative of future performance that’s for sure. Best of luck to any hopeful newhires!
He's probably in the training department. Those guys work hard and I get it. However, the extra money and seniority shelter mean that not everyone who applies cares about learning. It really shows sometimes.
