I do this as well, but what has been most effective for me on the 737 is raising the thigh supports to their max height. I used to think that people who did that were masochists but I’ve now learned that my lower back was compensating for strain on my legs. Raising up the thigh supports has helped me tremendously.
I find this makes the seat significantly more comfortable for long flights and even for multiple leg days. It’s a very underrated function of a seat that has never been very comfortable to begin with.
