American Airlines used to do wide body international, and they were damn good at it. Most of us who have been in this industry a while remember AA DC-10, A300, and 767 Luxury Liners flying all over the world.
I just rode American internationally in a 787, and they seemed pretty good at it.
Nice business class, too.
