That dude's post is gold, and I a glad he posted it here. A first year regional pilot is making way more than someone with years of experience flying an airplane off the front of a carrier into the dark of night with no divert options. Let that sink in. It's a good time to be in this industry.
His numbers are certainly eye opening for many, but I also know they are skewed. The housing and food allowances are tax free so they actually would be something like 15% higher, apples to apples. The same with medical. It's a massive income multiplier that isn't quite captured in his information. So don't try and discredit people for putting perspective on military compensation numbers
