I’ve flown biz on British Airways and Lufthansa. BA’s biz class was 2-4-2 seating- in every seat you’re staring at your neighbor, sometimes three. It was awkward and claustrophobic. On Lufthansa, it was 2-2-2 I think- forced to step over someone if you had a window. Even United had a garbage 2-4-2 business class product until relatively recently, while AA and DAL had long gone to 1-2-1.

I flew China Eastern in biz- nice 1-2-1 seating, but the entire biz cabin smelled like cigarette smoke. You could literally see smoke coming out of the cockpit as the pilots took down carton after carton over 12+ hours.
