United dictates where the 175s go, cheapest option first. UAL faces the same problem AA faces when the thought of putting RJ’s on the certificate comes up. You gonna go to UAL and fly RJ’s? Or go to AA/DAL/SWA and fly mainline equipment?? How many well qualified pilots will a valid going to UA at the thought of having to fly RJ’s over there vs. bigger planes elsewhere

It’s cheaper for mainline to kick the RJ’s around at the lowest bidding contractor until they get their value out of the planes. Never gonna happen putting them on mainline pay rates

pay attention
Aviate graduates with an ATP will go to the 175s that United will put on their certificate
Pay will be the same as Mesa . Who do you think pays this huge pay increases in pay Mesa got ?

Lack of pilots and scope ( max 253 for contractors) is the issue and there is a need of 400 or so 175s to feed the expansion United is planning for the next 4years
1200 aircraft fleet is the talk with all orders by 2027
