UA has hired 3000+ since 2021 with 100-200 a month being hired.. If you could secure a interview in 2023 and a class before 2024 you will have at least 4500 in front of you mostly young 24-45 age.
It's pie in the sky to predict WB Captain. Junior bottom of the barrel on RSV 18-25 years. Senior flying the trips everyone wants 25-40 years that's pretty much every base 777/787.
Because hiring is not consistent year over year, years of service are a bad predictor of future seniority. Better to use percentages. Junior WB CA is roughly 30% seniority. 70% of the current list will be retired in 20 years. Thus, assuming you are hired TODAY, you are younger than everyone retiring in the next 20 years, and the airline looks identical to the present in 2043, you should be able to hold WB CA at that time.
Those are big enough ifs to make the associated prediction completely worthless- see the above comment on “pie in the sky”.
