Good stuff...this makes the picture more complete.

You are a Widebody Captain making 192k/year so your situation is definitely more secure than the new hire, and I think that is a good deal, but I did not use Widebody data from the paycharts. I had to assume a few facts, such as where a newhire today would most probably be in 16 years. People can plug in the numbers they want, based on their best "guess." The name of this thread is "Would you leave the majors for NetJets, and why?" and obviously your answer would be "NO." This is good because you are very senior on the seniority list. The question, for a newhire is, "how long will it take to get into your fleet and seat and start making that kind of money?"

I remember before 9/11 that narrow body FO's at Delta were making $101/hour in year 2. Those were the days.

Those were good days. Its not horrible now however. I am now flying with lots of new hires. They will make 81 an hour in the second year with international pay. The pay difference is not much between widebody and narrowbody now. I have friends flying the 737 who made more then me. They flew a lot of overtime however and were working 15 or 16 days a month. I have found that there is a huge difference in your quality of life between a 16 day a month schedule and a 12 day schedule. Its almost night and day. I am not willing to work that much.
