Or, more likely, it indicates an inadequately educated pilot group (which I found out was by design, not just an oversight). This contract extension wouldn’t pass right now at any peer carrier, even if it included “another bite at the apple in 17 months.” Which should tell you everything you need to know. It’s not because it’s good, it’s because the masses don’t have the proper education. They got the sales pitch talking points, a standard dose of short term FUD about other contracts and the economy, and a good dose of “hope” that none of those FUD talking points will exist in 18-24 months and it’ll be smooth sailing.
