I'm sure it's because of the lack of assigned seating. Fake a disability and you get to pre-board, and get your pick of seats ahead of the crowd without buying an upgraded position. Every flight I see several wheelchair attendants leaving with empty chairs after the flight unloads, as these passengers that needed wheelchairs to get down the jetway are somehow able to walk back up completely unassisted at the end of the flight. It's a jetway miracle!
its definitely that. Sure would be nice if everyone who had a wheel chair to get on had to wait for everyone else to get off first. That might stop the madness.
Had 108 preboards on a flight. Not wheelchairs just people who needed extra time. When the A listers and business people boarded there was almost fist fights as all that was left was middles in the back.
I'm more and more in favor of assigning seats. Yesterday we waited almost 20 min for spinners to find a seat.
