with that being said, wrong place, wrong time, wrong crew complement, wrong state of mind this could happen to me or any of us.
As an experienced captain, I do the same thing. Always shorthand the taxi clearance in the scratchpad, and always verbalize turns and crossings before moving the tiller.
I am glad that this ended well for everyone involved; somewhere in the multiverse is a version of events where it did not end so well. Be careful out there.
