Honestly, I don’t care
one bit about saving $6.9 of gas. A culture that values applying takeoff power right at warm-up time is focusing on all the wrong things. I’d rather have my FO’s eyes outside scanning, and it’s far too easy to rush him/her and lose SA on his/her comfort level, or what it was like to be busy. Build time by starting both, or if a genuinely long taxi, way early. It only takes 1x to inadvertently pressure the FO.
